Startnext war erfolgreich! Wie geht es weiter? DE/EN
Die Startnextkampagne war erfolgreich, und das Projekt hat Partner gefunden; Es sind noch sechs Wochen bis zum großen Start.
Was wird nun passieren und wie geht es weiter?
Was für eine aufregende Zeit. Die Startnextkampagne hat aus einer ambitionierten Idee ein ausgewachsenes Projekt gemacht. Ich hätte mir nie träumen lassen, dass die Aktion auf so viel Zustimmung trifft und sich viele Menschen derart engagiert in die Sache eingebracht haben.
Das Fundinziel von 6540€ wurde um knapp 1000€ überschritten, sodass ich nun einen guten Sicherheitspuffer für Planänderungen auf der Reise habe.
An dieser Stelle bleibt mir nur den 90 großzügigen Unterstützern meinen tiefsten Dank auszusprechen.
Gerne Möchte ich auch die motivierten Partener des Projektes vorstellen:
Carsten von Veloheld, einem Fahrradhersteller aus Dresden, war von Anfang an von der Sache begeistert und ist dafür verantwortlich, dass ich mit dem schicken iconX Gravel-Stahlrahmen in Verkahrsorange, sogar mit pedalsKILLcancer Logo versehen, all die Berge hochkurbeln werde.

Steel is real!
Er hat mein Projekt gleich an seine Kontakte weitergeleitet, und sofort bekam ich eine Nachricht von dem renomierten dynamohersteller SON aus Tübingen. Dank ihnen bin ich nun überall mit Strom und Licht versorgt. Besser hätte ich es mir nicht wünschen können, denn es gibt wohl keine bessere Alternative zu ihren Dynamos und Lampen, bezüglich Qualität und Haltbarkeit.
Über Startnext ist auch Christoph von Real Experts, einem It-Beratungsunternehmen aus Dresden auf mich zugekommen. Sie haben ein spannendes Unternehmenskonzept, das sich auf die Potentialerschließung der Kommunikationsstruktur also Verbesserung der Zusammenarbeit in Unternehmen spezialisiert. Deshalb werden sie auch neben einer großzügigen Beihilfe zur Kampagne besonders bei der Verbreitung und Kommunikation des Projektes Helfen.
Über die Unterstützung durch den lokalen Onlinefahrradriesen Bike 24 kann ich mich ebenfalls sehr glücklich schätzten. Schon lange Jahre ist ihr physischer Radshop in Dresden-Löbtau, einer der beiden einzigen ihrer Läden, die Werkstatt meines Vertrauens. Als Generalausrüster haben sie natürlich die Möglichkeit mich in Sachen Equipment umfassend zu unterstützen. Technische erste Hilfe Pakete bei Defekten ins asiatische Niemalsland mit eingeschlossen! Wunderbare Sache!
Wie geht es also weiter?
Die Nächsten Wochen wird das über monate recherchierte Equipment und das individuelle Veloheld Gravlbike angeschafft und in einer winterlichen Testtour ins Riesengebierge auf die Probe gestellt. Über 3 Etappen soll die Wintertauglichkeit und vorallem die Bergtauglichkeit des Setups am brutal steilen Spindlerpass getestet werden. Sicher werde ich noch ein paar Änderungen vornehmen müssen.
Des Weiteren wird die Spendenaktion, die ja zentraler Punkt der Reise ist vorbereitet, dass sie pünktlich zum Startevent veröffentlicht werden kann. Dazu gibt es demnächst einen gesonderten Beitrag.
Zum Auftakt dieser Aktion wird es ein modisches Shirt geben, dass die Kernidee des Projekts graphisch plakativ darstellt. Diese kann währen der ganzen Aktion erworben werden, wobei der Erlös zu 100% der Spendenaktion zugschrieben wird. Auch dazu in kürze mehr.
Ich werde in den Nächsten wochen noch einige Impfungen (Hepatitis A/B und Tollwut) vornehmen müssen, denn das sind sehr snnvolle Abwägungen, bei nicht zu unterschätzenden Risiken.
Ein Paar Visavorbereitungen sind ebenfalls noch zu treffen, denn für die Einreise nach China/Pakistan/Indien ist in meinem Fall die Organisation über die Konsulate notwendig.
Beantragen muss ich das dann aber postalisch, denn die Visafristen gelten teilweise schon ab Ausstellung.
Habe ich etwas vergessen? Ach ja, trainieren wäre vielleicht auch gut. Schließlich bin ich die Letzten Monate so wenig Rad gefahren wie noch nie. So ein Projekt entwickelt sich schnell zum Fulltimejob. Eine spannende Sache!

The Startnextcampaign has been successfull, the Project finally got some important partnerships; It's about six weeks to the big start.
What's got to happen now and which are the next steps?
Exciting times! That crowdfundingcampaign turned an idea with ambithions into a grown project.
I never even dreamed of that campaign gaining so much atention and so many people getting involved in such a positive manner.
The goal of 6540€ has even been passed by nearly 1000€, which means some comfort for me in a way that unpredictable things could be handled with more freedom. What elese could I say, than a big „thank you“ to the 90 generous supporters.
I'd like to introduce to you the motivated partners of the project:
Carasten, the Founder of Veloheld, a local bike manufacturer from Dresden was realy excited about this adventure and he is the reason I will cycle up all those mountains on an orange iconX steelframe. Even with the pedalskillcancer logo on the toptube! A complete Story then: Cycling from Dresden to south India on a steelbike from Dresden. Steel is real!
Also he informed their partners about my project and immediately I recieved a message form SON the famous dynamo hub manufacturer form Tübingen. Thanks to them Iwill be provided with light and energy everywhere I ride. It couldn't have come better because there is no other option für dynamos and lights when it comes to quality and reliability.
Christoph, CEO form Real Experts, an IT consulting company got in touch with the project via Startnext. The are working with an interesting concept of developing the potential of different communication structures to enhance the teamwork and work atmosphere of companies. Besides their direct support they will actively help spreading news and reports about the adventure.
Finally I'm also really glad that the local online bicycle company giant Bike24 offered their support.
For about 7 years their only physical shop which is placed in Dresden-Löbtau is my bikeshop of choice for mecanical issues. Having nearly all gear availible on the market and in stock, surely they have a great variety to help with equipment. This includes mailing mecanical first-aid kits into the nowherelands of central asia. Great thing!
What's next then?
Next weeks I will get the well researched eqipment and the individual gravelbike from Veloheld and I will set off on a 3 day testride into the frosty giant mountains of Czech and Poland. There I will ride up the unforgivingly steep Spindlerpass to test the most extreme conditions with this setup. I guess there will be needed some changes.
Most important step is preparing the fundraising campaign, which is the central event of the project and has to be launched right with the start at the end of march. There will be released an own blog article on that soon.
Initialy there will be a T-shirt, designed with lots of passion, which promotes central Ideas of the adventure in a graphical form. This shirt will be sold during the whole time of the journey and the profit will go entirely to the Fundraising campaign. More information on that soon.
The next weeks I will have to do several vaccinations (Hepatitis A/B and rabies) because that are predictable risks on the journey.
Some preparations on visa also will have to be done, because gainig permission to enter China/Pakistan and India in my case I will have to get in touch with the embassies. Can't do the whole process now, because some visa are already valid from the day of issue. Later on the trip this will be done via mail.
Forgot anything? Yeah, probably some trainig would be great. Finally the last months I cycled less then ever before. Had to see the project becoming a fulltime job. Exciting things!
